Women & Hi Tech exists to change the landscape of women represented in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and related Hi Tech fields to be equally inclusive to all. Women & Hi Tech hosts the biennial Leading Light Awards (LLA) to recognize women of achievement in STEM who have made great innovations in their hi tech industries, and have shown qualities of expertise, professionalism, leadership, service, courage, and tenacity as they have built their careers. We invite you to nominate passionate women in STEM, including diverse women, who exemplify these characteristics on a regular basis.
Leading Light Awards nominees and recipients must reside in Indiana. Although we look for impact and advancement in STEM in Indiana, consideration will be given to national and global impact and achievement as well.
Award applications must be submitted via the following form no later than 5pm EST on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Please mark your calendars now! The 2024 Leading Light Awards and Scholarship Gala will be held Thursday, October 3rd, 2024 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in downtown Indianapolis. This signature, biennial event by Women & Hi Tech focuses on celebrating Indiana women in STEM – women who are risk-takers, leaders, educators, mentors, and those who are changing our local STEM landscape. We look forward to an amazing evening of celebrating local women in STEM!
Anyone may be an Applicant/Nominee for this award. Nominees must have demonstrated a long-term commitment, sustainable efforts, and significant impact to mentor, recognize, champion, and/or promote diverse female students or personnel in STEM. Nominees of this award should have demonstrated notable action and/or provided visible advocacy to positively change professional or academic environments to be more equitable and inclusive such that more diverse women in STEM are recognized, promoted, and/or advanced to leadership positions. Exemplary nominees will have implemented programs, changed policies or procedures, and/or established considerations and metrics that have been utilized or implemented in a sustainable manner to ensure that more qualified diverse women are empowered to have a seat and a voice at the table. Special consideration will be given to nominees who have positively affected multiple or numerous diverse women in STEM via their efforts.
